IUSED2BU

My name is Sharel Jones. I spent years addicted, homeless, and invisible. Now I run a non-profit called IUSED2BU and show up for the people still out there. We feed, we clothe, we listen; and when you’re ready, we walk you into real care. No judgment. Just neighbors who won’t look away.

My Story

I started drinking at 14, cocaine at 16, heroin by 24, to numb the pain I never asked for. Fifteen, sixteen years on the street. At 31, the court and my sister pushed me into getting help. Ten years clean, I go back to the same blocks with meals, clothing, and a hand that doesn’t flinch.
I used to be you. Now I walk with you.

Why we do this

Because being unseen hurts. Because a hot meal, a clean face, and a warm coat can make it through the night. Because one ride to intake can change a life. IUSED2BU exists so people get seen sooner, helped faster, and supported longer by someone who’s been there.

Come walk with us

We need hands that pack, feet that show up, and hearts that listen. Help with meals and kits, sort clothing, join street outreach, drive to appointments, or pitch in at events. Two hours change a day.
